So as hard as I try get my head around the concept - the weather in the Cape is weird. I say this because in Johannesburg it rains in Summer. When I say it rains - it storms for about half an hour in the afternoon and then becomes clear and sunny again. This only happens in Summer. In Winter - it does not rain at all. However in Cape Town (only about 1000 odd km from JHB) there is no rain in Summer and then in Winter it rains none stop. Its not the type of storm the Highveld gets (which are SCARY!! Lots of lightening and thunder) The Cape storms is more a gentle heavy drizzle - that's it!! Today we got a taste of the Winter rains. Gentle heavy drizzle! Felt like I was in England. Then in the afternoon it started clearing up - leaving behind big puddles and beautiful clouds.

When you visit a different province - there are so many different things to do. Today we went out to Franshoek and ate at a beautiful restaurant called the Kitchen. It is run by the owner of Weylands. The decor is gorgeous filled with lots of solid wood and white - amazing.

My grandparents live in Somerset West - not close enough to the beach to go every day but close enough that at some point you have to go and get your toes in the sand. There is no feeling like the salty wind and toes in the sand. Weather was great today so we went for a walk on The Strand beach. Every body was out and about swimming and running and digging holes etc. I am totally and utterly a beach person.

Yesterday my super fabulous brother graduated from Stellenbosch with a BCom. I am a super proud sister. Well done little brother.

Today we watched the Varsity Cup - Maties (Stellenbosch) versus. Besoekers (UJ) at the Danie Craven Rugby Stadium in Stellenbosch. My brother is a student so we went with him and all his mates to watch the match. Great fun sitting in the crowds of maroon T-Shirts. I miss my student days.

My mom is in town :-) So we took her along with my in laws to the Neighbour Good Market . That place is so good for my soul - beautiful food, lovely music and relaxed atmosphere.

Happy Human Rights Day!!!

Today I went dress shopping with a special friend of mine who is getting married - after having little success at the bridal shops we went to a material shop to look for fabrics. I love how colourful and chaotic material shops are. Crazy beautiful

There is a huge drive on at the moment to improve Johannesburg's city centre - subsequently some really cool restaurants have opened up. Tomorrow is a public holiday in South Africa - Human Rights Day, so in light of this public holiday, one of the restaurants decided to have a free beer tasting for micro breweries. It was a fun evening with everyone promoting their own brew. We then had to vote for our preferred beer so that they can be featured at the hosting restaurant - The Chalkboard Cafe.

When I woke up this morning it was overcast and chilly - stay in bed kind of weather. I decided to to make my moms yummy butternut soup for dinner. Its the easiest recipe and so yummy. Even though the sun came out and it turned into a lovely sunny day - I decided to still make my moms soup. Bon Appetit.

Today we had an amazing opportunity to see Nelspruit from the air in a lightweight aircraft - The Bantam. It had poured with rain last night so it cleared the air and provided beautiful scenery. Amazing experience :-)

The reason we came to Nelspruit this weekend to take our new car on its first long distance journey. It is a beautiful car and incredibly comfortable. Hubby and I are very excited to welcome the newest member to our family. We have named the Nissan - Kwazi!

We are in Nelspruit :-) We took a road trip up and while I was driving I was teaching hubby how to take photos with my camera. This photo however was all him, no help from me - very proud of him - beautiful photograph!

Our refuse is collected on a Monday - however for some reason the rubbish is still sitting on the street and its Wednesday. There is no strike that I am aware of? It makes the roads look so ugly and causes a horrible stench :( Not very nice.

My sister in law and her boyfriend are out from overseas. They wanted to go to the Canopy Tours in Magaliesburg. Hubby and I went with - what an amazing experience! Definitely worth it :-) 

Swinging through the trees - wind in your hair, seeing the beauty of mother nature  - real experience. Normally I take the photos - however I could not resist posting this one taking by my assistant and hubby - he is getting really good with the camera (very proud). This is me on the zipline - bracing myself for the stop. Makes me chuckle - the faces you pull without realising it.

Some days you just don't feel like cooking - especially on a Friday night. We have an amazing machine called a Thermomix - it cooks chops stirs - everything. Needless to say it makes preparing food a lot easier and quicker - I absolutely LOVE this machine.

Happy 1st of March everybody!
I cannot believe that its March already! Where have the last 2 months gone?
Today I did a shoot at Zoo Lake with an amazing woman who is a theatre actress. This lovely lady is going places - watch this space.
