My sister in law has been working for the Awethu Project up on Constitutional Hill.She has met some amazing young people, one of which has just become the new curator of the art collection in the Constitutional Court. She runs FREE tours - all you have to do is phone and book. It is an amazing tour that shows you the court and the incredible art pieces it houses. Definitely worth a visit if you are in JHB.

It is nearly my father in laws birthday - so we took to him to the Randburg Raceway and treated him to 30 minutes of go carting! What fun!!! Worth a visit - Monday is buy one round get one free.

This morning we woke up and went out for breakfast and of course I had a cappuccino. We then heard that my inlaws were having breakfast down the road - so we went and joined them where I had another cappuccino! Needless to say I was buzzing when I got home!

Happy Friday the 13th!!!

My sister in law stayed with us a while ago and she was knitting a jersey for one of her friends who has just had a baby. I then went to Cape Town where my mom and grandmother were both knitting and/or crocheting - so I decided to join the trend :-)

I was back at the Village today working with the beautiful children that live there. This is a little 3 year old who was abandoned at a hotel in Sandton when he was 2.The love and care this child gives to everyone he meets is heart warming. What a special little boy.

My husband has taken a huge interest in learning how to shoot on manual! Today he went off to the park to play around with shutter speed. This is all him (I was not even there). I am so excited that he is taking an interest in a passion of mine. Well done Love!!!

We had another Easter meal today - breakfast at close friends. I made these eggs which contained a "fortune" for each person. It was my version of an Easter cracker.

A friend of mine from school days got married today and I was fortunate enough to photograph her wedding. It was a lovely morning wedding held at the Rosebank Union Church. She looked absolutely beautiful and radiant. Congratulations to the beautiful bride and handsome groom.

Our friends live in Dubai and have come out for Easter, so in light of this I asked them to buy me a flash I have wanted for ages (it is a lot cheaper there than here in South Africa). I collected the flash yesterday from them :-) To go with my flash - my amazing husband bought me a remote trigger for my flash. This is me playing with the off camera flash.

In South Africa there is a beautiful wild flower called Cosmos. It grows in the parks and on the side of the road, however it does not grow all year round. April is the end of the season ,so we decided to snap up a few images by going went down the road to the park near our house where there are fields of these beautiful flowers.

Today marks the day that I start a new adventure. I have started working at a safe haven for abused and abandoned children called The Village. It is a beautiful amazing place that gives nothing but care and love for these incredible children. I have the privilege of working with them twice a week. This is truly a remarkable place - there will be a lot of photos coming soon :-)

This is my office in the garden. Not a bad place for an office.

There is an incredible cycle race called the Cape Epic. It is an incredibly gruelling race that lasts for 8 days. Today the race finished at Lourensford Wine Farm. I am staying next door and you could hear the festivites loud and clear. While making lunch I heard this plane making a huge noise - I went outside to see what was going on and there was a stunt man pulling off huge acts in the sky with smoke coming out of the rear of the plane. I ran back inside to get my camera. I am not so sure I could hold my stomach if I was a passenger in the plane!!!

My in laws told me about this little town that I have to go visit when I am next in the Western Cape - they said it was just my kind of place - beautiful old quaint buildings and little shops. They were not wrong!! Today my family and I took a drive out to Riebeek Kasteel. A beautiful little town with lots of little shops and colourful old buildings. If you are in the area - definitely worth a visit!!!
